Drones Data X Conference coming soon to Dublin for 2016 edition

Drones Data X Conference, a top B2B commercial drone event, is coming to Dublin on Nov. 3rd for its 2016 edition.

Drones Data X Conference, a great drone event that takes place bi-annually in both Ireland and California, will be hosted in Dublin, Ireland on Nov. 3rd.

The event, founded in 2014 by Philip McNamara, an Irish native but resident in Santa Cruz, California brings some of the world’s most important companies in the UAV and drone industry to Ireland.

There are 10 top notch speakers confirmed to date.

This edition’s lineup includes representatives from drone companies such as Romeo Durscher (Director of Education for DJI), Vernon Kerswell (CEO at Extreme Flyers, a global million dollar drone brand), and Remi El-Ouazzane (CEO of Movidius, Dublin-based chip-design company recently acquired by tech giant Intel), from the Venture Capital sector such as Tom Shinkwin (Partner at Enterprise Equity Venture Capital), from the Irish Aviation Authority and from the Small UAV Coalition, an organization promoting the recreational and commercial use of drones.

There are two specials added to the 2016 event’s programme.

The Drones Data X Conference will provide a global launch platform to two innovative Irish startups: Drone SAR and Skytango (yep, that’s us!).

Drone SAR, built by Oisin McGrath and Gearóid Ó Briain, military flight instructors, civilian drone examiners and entrepreneurs, is changing the way search and rescue agencies and the world view drones. This startup, which recently partnered with DJI, offers a patented technology able to transform basic multirotor drones into advanced search and rescue platforms, enabling search & rescue teams to reduce the time required to locate victims.

Steve Flynn, CEO of Skytango will officially launch Skytango’s innovative marketplace for drone operations and drone video content, offering new-to-market features to the millions of content buyers and drone operators around the world (you want a sneak peek? The Dublin event of the Drones Data X Conf will also host a special workshop on the use of drones in Search & Rescue. DJI and EENA (European Emergency Number Association) partnered in April 2016 to launch a test project on drone technology in emergency operations. Donegal Mountain Search and Rescue was one of the chosen sites for the test. The workshop will be presented by Romeo Durscher (DJI), Ralph James (IAA) and Drone SAR:

The organizer Philip McNamara expects the Dublin edition of Drones Data X Conference to welcome 300 attendees, replicating on a smaller scale the success of the San Francisco event which took place in June. Over 500 visitors from 15 countries attended the event, which also featured an exhibition area with more than 30 companies and a flight demo area.

Following the conference, the Dublin Drones Data X Conf will move to Achill Island in Co.Mayo, Ireland for an exclusive (invite only) VIP Weekend, which is what makes this event unique among the 80+ top commercial drone events taking place around the globe.

The VIP Weekend is a tightly-curated event designed to facilitate peer-based thought leadership and networking in a private, intimate environment. Invited top execs and UAV professionals from across a range of industries will get to experience the best of the West of Ireland, including guided mountain biking, and kite surfing excursions with the experts from Pure Magic and Kitesurfing School, followed by wining and dining.

Hope to meet you there!
