The latest Drone Photography Contest by SkyPixel showcased the best photos taken by drones in 2016. Stunningly creative images from 131 countries were submitted.
The ever growing drone photo-sharing community SkyPixel, operated in partnership with DJI, has announced the winners of its latest drone photography contest. The contest drew in more than 27,000 entries from 131 countries worldwide.
Ge Zheng was the winner of the 2016 SkyPixel Photo of the Year with a photo titled “Fishermen close the net,” which was shot in China’s Fujian Province. Here is the winning image:
The winning photos were selected by a jury of photographers, including photojournalists from Time and Conde Nast Traveler.
Zheng’s winning photo won him a DJI Inspire 2 drone, a DJI Mavic Pro drone, Epson Moverio BT-300 smart glasses, an Epson SureColor P400 Wide Format photo printer and an Adobe Creative Cloud photo membership.
There were altogether six categories which showcased a variety of different settings, angles and perspectives. The first prize winners of each of the categories were as follows:
